Encrypted by Carolyn McCray

I loved the characters in this book. They were larger than life and the romantic connection between Zach and Ronnie while a bit strained at times kept you guessing and intrigued to see if it could all work out.

There were plenty of plot twists and exciting action scenes with death defying heroics! What a great thrill ride! The ending was great. I will not give away anything, but I will recommend this book to tech/thrill loving readers. Carolyn McCray has quite a franchise to look forward to in this series.

Gray Justice by Alan McDermott

Tom Gray is a character fashioned from the past! A man's man with a code of ethics that is rare in today's society. I love this character. He cares about the world he lives in and desires to right the wrongs of a corrupt justice system. His plan seems so foolproof with every contingency carefully measured and yet he has overlooked what he couldn't have possibly planned for.

This story would resonate in so many modern cultures today. Tom is a suffering hero that the world is crying out for. The bad guys are supposed to be the good guys and have lost their way. Tom is just trying to right the course of the ship, and show them true justice. Gray Justice is an engaging book that will make you wish that someone like Tom Gray would step up and say enough!

Velvet Rain by David C. Cassidy

Velvet Rain reminds me in a way, of one of my favorite TV series, Kung Fu. The main character Kain is a lot like the character of Kwai Chang Caine in the series. He is kind and merciful, only using his powers for good to lessen the suffering of others. He moves on when his welcome is worn out and he reaches out to some unknown goal.

His power? The ability to locally turn back time. It will set your mind to thinking in a myriad of ways.

I enjoyed this book with all of its plot twists and turns. While a bit dark and gory at times, it did not disappoint in depth of feeling and mystery. The bad guys are really evil and twisted and you will love to hate them! A great page turner that would make a great movie. I recommend it to people who like thriller/mysteries.

Progeny by Shawn Hopkins

A reason to think beyond your mundane world!

I just loved this book! It connects the strange mysteries of history with the ancient scriptures of the Bible, Apocrypha and other ancient writings into a plausible thriller of a story. The action never stops and although sometimes very bloody, it never the less succeeds at keeping you on the edge of your seat while at the same time spinning a vivid picture of the areas described there. This book makes you think and ponder the mysteries that are here on this earth and the spiritual mysteries embedded into the souls of mankind. It ties them together and presents an undeniably fascinating world where anything can and does happen.

While in the midst of reading this book, I read the book of Enoch and the first and second books of Adam and Eve as well as the beginning of the book of Genesis. The point being that this book makes you want to track down information cited to get a bigger picture of the references contained in the book. It all adds to the possible reality that the story line presents to the reader. Well done Mr. Hopkins! I will definitely be reading more of this author's work!

The American form of government.

A friend sent me a link about the American form of government. It made so much sense and simplified the history and structure of what America is supposed to be about. I say supposed because we are continually treading in muddy waters and are headed for a fall if we don't take stock of where we are and where we should be. Watch it and decide for yourself.

Spam Reduction: Make your email address as scarce as possible.

1 Do not post your real email address to newsgroups. Spambots regularly sift through posts at newsgroups looking to harvest email addresses.
2. Get in the habit of editing mail you are forwarding to remove the email addresses of others that the email was sent to.
3. Get your friends to get in this habit as well. There is nothing better for a spammer than to get a hold of an email where he can harvest lots of email addresses to sell and use.
4. When you make a group in your address book, check the box that says the addresses won't show up in your email. If you don't know how to make a group in your address book, check out the help section on your computer.
5. Get a second email address to use for signing up for things. Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, GMail, and Netscape Mail are all free. Guard your main email by only using it for business or close associates friends and family.

Just A Mom?

This goes out to moms everywhere who feel belittled by a society that too little appreciates the sacrificial contributions that they so freely make.

JUST A MOM?

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk 's office, was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.

She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself. "What I mean is, " explained the recorder, "do you have a job or are you just a ....?"

"Of course I have a job," snapped the woman. "I'm a Mom."

"We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation, 'Housewife' covers it,” Said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself In the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall. The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like, "Official Interrogator" or "Town Registrar."

"What is your occupation?" she probed.

What made me say it? I do not know. The words simply popped out. "I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations."

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair and Looked up as though she had not heard right.

I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words. Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written, in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

"Might I ask," said the clerk with new interest, "just what you do in your field?"

Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply, "I have a continuing program of research, (what mother doesn't) In the laboratory and in the field,
(normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family) And already have four credits (all daughters). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding In the humanities, (any mother care to disagree?) And I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most Run-of-the-mill careers and the rewards are more about the satisfaction rather than just money."

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's' voice as she completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my
Lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3. Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model,
(a 6 month old baby) in the child development program, testing out a new vocal pattern.

I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy! And I had gone on the official records as someone
More distinguished and indispensable to mankind than "just another Mom." Motherhood!
What a glorious career! Especially when there's a title on the door..

Does this make grandmothers "Senior Research associates in the field of Child Development and Human Relations" and great grandmothers "Executive Senior Research Associates?" I think so!!! I also think it makes Aunts "Associate Research Assistants."
